Description: Ookhal or Shumga is a an amazing meadow that lies in the Sainj Valley of GHNP Eco-zone. We start our trek from Shangarh meadow to reach peaceful Sara Lake where we camp for the night. The following day we trek to Ookhal Thach through dense forest which gives fair opportunity to spot various birds & wildlife. Day walk to Ookhal pass from Ookhal Thach is what should rightly be called the best part of this trek. View from the pass is magnificent as you are finally on the edge of two valleys of Sainj & Tirthan.
